Pricing Guide
How much does bookkeeping cost?
The exact number depends on four inputs you can count yourself, before any call. No "book a demo to find out" curtain. Here is the whole model.
The four inputs
Strip away the mystery and bookkeeping cost boils down to workload. Four main things drive it:
- Accounts. Each bank account, credit card and loan, and each Stripe, Square or PayPal account. Every one gets reconciled monthly. Count yours.
- Transactions. The lines on your statements each month. Fifty transactions and five hundred are different jobs.
- What you want handled. Invoicing, bills, payroll, sales tax, job costing. Each one is a priced add-on below.
- State of the books. Behind means a one-time catch-up project first, then the monthly rate. Plus the two conditions under books that need more work.
A quote that arrives without questions about these four inputs is a guess. Guesses get corrected later - rarely downward.
Most likely bundles
These are sample prices, not separate products. They show what the setups we expect most often cost on the rate card below. Whatever your mix, your price is built from the same lines.
| Bundle | Monthly | What's in it |
|---|---|---|
| Essentials | from $299/mo | Two accounts reconciled every month and up to 50 transactions categorized. A monthly close, a one-page P&L and balance sheet you'll actually read, a year-end package for your CPA, and replies within 1 business day. |
| Growth | from $533/mo | Everything in Essentials, plus 3 accounts and up to 100 transactions a month. Invoicing for up to 20 invoices a month, 3 reminder emails in your name (3 days before due, 7 and 21 days after), and a monthly list of who owes you, with anything 60+ days late flagged. |
| Established | from $907/mo | Everything in Growth, plus 5 accounts, up to 200 transactions and up to 50 invoices a month. Bills entered and coded, up to 50 a month, a weekly pay run prepared for your approval, and W-9s collected before a vendor's first payment. You release every payment. |
Each sample is the exact sum of the line items on this page. Your agreement lists the same lines for your own setup, so it adds up to the number you see.

Why there is no hourly option
Hourly billing pays the bookkeeper more for working slower. That is a bad trade for the client, so we will not offer it here. Monthly work is a flat rate, agreed in writing before the month starts. Anything outside that scope gets a flat quote in writing before it starts. You never get a surprise hourly bill.
Books that need more work
These prices assume two things:
- Business money runs only through business accounts (no personal spending mixed in).
- Documents come back within 5 business days when asked.
Miss one: +15% on the bookkeeping fee. Miss both: +30%. We'll tell you on the first call which ones apply and why. Fix it, and the extra comes off from the next quarter.
What we don't do
- Tax returns or tax advice. That's your CPA.
- Legal advice.
- Audits, reviews or compilations.
- Moving your money. You approve and release every payment.
- Making your calls for you, like who's a contractor and who's an employee, or what to write off.
Which bundle is closest
Count your accounts and last month's transactions. Two accounts or fewer and under 50 transactions: Essentials. You send invoices and spend too long chasing them: Growth. You also pay a stack of bills every week: Established. Somewhere in between, or bigger, and your number comes from the same rate card. The contact form runs this math and shows a range before you send anything.
All prices in USD. Month-to-month, billed monthly in advance. "From" is the bundle minimum; your exact number is confirmed in writing before any work starts.
What is never billed
Questions. "What is this category?" and "why is March down?" are part of the service. Charging a client to explain their own numbers has the incentives backwards.
